For shorter ranging requirements and more space constraint applications, the NP1, having a length of less than 50 millimetres, has the capability of ranging a vehicle size target in excess of 3 kilometres. Repetition rate of up to 25 Hertz is possible and the product has a range limit of 6 kilometres.
The NP1 utilises direct diode technology, operating at an eyesafe wavelength of 1560nm. The NP1 is qualified for demanding shock and temperature requirements without export control when supplied from South Africa.
Communication with the NP1 is established by means of a UART interface which forms the operational, status and maintenance interface with the NP1.
